Patti, why would you walk 60 miles?
I can’t tell you how many times I have been asked that question, and my answer is “why wouldn’t I?” I have more than 30 beautiful women in my family. Two generations of nieces, sisters (by birth and by marriage) whom I all love dearly. One out of every eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. 1 in 8! Those statistics scare me and should motivate all of us to do something. Do something.....walk, donate money, encourage the people we love to do self examinations, get mammograms, and get educated about the disease. Some of the women I love have already been called to fight this challenge and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about them. So, why walk? Simple, I walk for my daughters, I walk for my family, I walk for friends, and I walk for myself. Everyone deserves a lifetime!
Send help!
How can you help the ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants?’ You can donate on-line with a credit card. If you don’t feel comfortable making a donation via the internet, contact me and I can get you a donation form to be completed, and a donation can be made by check or cash.
Check out our web page often for fundraising updates. I’m traveling with a younger crowd and they have some awesome and fun ideas to raise money! Each member of the ‘Sisterhood’ MUST raise a minimum of $2200.00 by June 1 2008 to be eligible to walk in the event. We can’t do it alone, so I’m calling on you to support my team and myself. Thanks in advance for the donation.
Cheer us on and keep us going the day of the walk. There will be cheering stations set up for friends and family to keep us motivated on this 3 day event. Come and cheer us on during the walk to keep our spirits up and smiling all the way!
Hugs - Patti
Is this for real???
If someone would have told me 6 months ago that I would be getting up every morning at 4:30 to hit the gym by 5:00 a.m. to train for a 60 mile walk in the middle of summer, I would have said, "sit down and take a pill, you're delirious." However, I was inspired by my daughter, blessed with good friends that wanted to share in the experience and truly driven by the Spirit to get involved, raise some money and raise awareness about Breast Cancer.
Please support me (and my team) as we take an amazing journey in the fight against breast cancer! The Breast Cancer 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Net proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust, funding important breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment.
