In January of this year, Norma "Grammy" Hirte died of a stroke. A survivor of breast cancer, she is an inspiration to the members of Grammy's Samurai, who will be walking to provide others a chance to win the same fight.

Grammy was world-renowned for her cooking ability (or at least should have been), and provided excellent care not only for her children, but also her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving, fun, person, and will be greatly missed.

We of the tribe of Grammy's Samurai dedicate this, our first 3-Day, to her honor.

The Breast Cancer 3-Day is a 60-mile walk that occurs between September 19 and September 21. Net proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust, funding important breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment.
