We are three courageous women walking to make a difference. Laura, Megan and Melissa all teach at Clarksburg High School in Clarksburg, MD. We have come together to honor our friends and loved ones that are affected by breast cancer.
All of our team members have a close connection with breast cancer. Melissa has 2 aunts fighting breast cancer as well as 3 close family friends, one of whom died when the cancer entered her blood stream. Megan's mother, great aunt and great grandmother all had breast cancer before the age of 70. Her mother is a survivor while her great aunt and great grandmother both died from the disease. Laura's grandmother is currently fighting breast cancer while a close friend underwent a double mastectomy to save her life from breast cancer at the age of 36. Because we all have close family and friends directly affected by breast cancer, we are walking to find a cure and give a brighter future to all women around the world.
The Breast Cancer 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Net proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust, funding important breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment.
Laura, Megan and Melissa sincerely appreciate any support (whether monetary or emotionally) you can provide.
